Members of Young Lawyers Forum were in the office of the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Makurdi Branch to felicitate with him on his assumption in office.
Congratulating the Chairman, Victor Saaondo Asen Esq, Chairman of the forum said the essence of the visit was to have an interface with the new Chairman and congratulate him on a victory well deserved.
Barrister Asen further said one of the reasons that prompted the visit was to seek for synergy between the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA); the Mother body and the Young Lawyers Forum, to ensure the interest of all and foster unity of purpose.
He also said that the young lawyers lack the financial capacity to carry out most of their activities which is where the body seeks the intervention of NBA. Speaking further, the young lawyers requested to be carried along in NEC Meetings. In his response, the Chairman, Justin Gbagir Esq, thanked the Young Lawyers for the Visit. He said the welfare of the Young Lawyers has always been his priority and assured them that they will be fully represented in everything that has to do with the Branch.
This way, Barr. Gbagir said the young lawyers can have the opportunity to meet and relate with lawyers from other Branches, across the country.
On the issue of venue for meetings, the Bar Chair said he is offering the NBA Secretariat Conference Hall for EXCO meetings.
The Chairman also called on lawyers to place value for services rendered.
For other requests, Gbagir Esq asked the young professionals to draft a budget of where they need assistance and present to the Mother body for proper documentation and quick actions.
