Benue State Solicitor–General Assures Legal Officers of Level Playing Ground

The Solicitor-General/Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Justice Benue State, Barr. Simon Chuzi Egede MON has pledged the resolve of the Ministry to remain committed to the welfare of Staff of the Ministry.
The Solicitor-General stated the resolve in his address at a meeting held on the 20th July, 2020 at the Ministry of Justice headquarters with legal officers where he stated that a request has been made to the Governor of Benue State for reconnection of electricity as well as restoration of internet facilities.
He stated further that for convenience, the toilet facilities within the Ministry will be rehabilitated water supply restore for use by staff of the Ministry.
The Solicitor also stated that under the new management team, there will be no victimization of staff as there is no sacred cow amongst them. He hinted that reposting of officers posted outside the Ministry is being considered while casual staff will be absorbed to strengthen the workforce.
Mungwa Fiase Esq, thanked the Solicitor-General for plans to provide a conducive working environment. He requested that now that they have a Solicitor-General who has the interest of his staff at heart, he is convinced that the issue of wardrobe allowances for legal officers will be sorted.
Similarly, Maureen Igyo, immediate past Chairperson of the Ministry welfare scheme appealed to her colleagues to shun rumor mongering and work as a team in order to achieve the goals of justice dispensation.
Mrs. Maimuna Ikwalono a former National Executive Council Representative and Chairmanship candidate in the recently concluded Nigerian Bar Association Makurdi Branch election thanked her colleagues for their support during her campaigns and encouraged them to attend meetings as a matter of obligation as members of NBA.
Deputy Director, Legal Drafting, Nguhemen Adagba Esq and Julius Terna Gwa Esq, called on the Solicitor-General and the entire management to look into the issues of travelling allowances of legal officers and training/retraining, most especially those in the Directorate of Citizen’s Rights as specialized mediators.
The Permanent Secretary said all issues raised will be looked into. The meeting was attended by all the Directors of Ministry.
