Hilkiah Foundation plans to launch SPORT 4 PEACE AMBASSADOR Program. This is in line with the reality that around the world, many young people are victims of cultural, direct and structural violence. They have become carriers of violence. Therefore, there is a strong tendency among politicians and researchers to see youths as a problem to be solved.
The Foundation is also aware that many youths are peace-builders and have begun to act constructively in building a culture of peace. Youths are underestimated as positive agents of change and key actors in peace-building, both by policy-makers and academics.
The youth, who are in the forefront of global social, economic and political developments and as a dynamic group in society is identified by the Foundation to play a crucial role in positively transforming conflict situations and in building the foundations for democratic and peaceful societies. This is documented in several statements and reports of governments, inter-governmental organizations and non-governmental organizations.
To this end, the Foundation using sports shall among other things:
Train youths on the roles in the community for the implementation of SDGs;
Promote peace among communities;
Campaign against dangerous or hate speech;
Develop skills acquisition and empower the youths through sports;
Campaign against gender based and human rights abuses and other anti-social activities in the society.
