Benue Police Arrests Suspected Child Trafficker

Benue State Police Command has arrested suspected child trafficker, Mrs. Linda Akaasema, while attempting to transport 32 children in two buses, from Benue State to Osun State.
When intercepted by police men attached to Operation Zenda, on Saturday, Jan.8, at Ameladu in Gboko local government area of Benue state, Mrs. Linda claimed that she owned and operated a Children home at Osun State. And that, she brought back the kids who were schooling at Osun state, to celebrate the festive periods at their homes in Benue state.
She further claimed that the children were indigenes of Zakibiam, Jootar, and other Benue state Communities that shares boundary with Taraba state.
However when asked to identify herself and substantiate her claims with legal documents, she said she had forgotten all her documents at Osun State.
When the Benue State police public Relations Officer, SP. Catherine Anene, was contacted, she confirmed knowledge of the incidence, and said that investigation was still ongoing.
