Benue State gets New Police Commissioner –

Nigeria Police Inspector General, Usman Alkali, has assigned CP Tajudeen Akinwale Abass, as the new Police Commissioner of Benue State Police Command.
This was contained in a press statement released by the police spokes person, CP Frank Mba, today, Jan. 21, 2021.
Other states affected were: Lagos and Yobe states; now having Alabi Abiodun and Haruna Gabriel as new Police Commissioners respectively.
The force PRO said the official changes were made due to the “recent promotions by the Police
Service Commission, including 2 Deputy Inspector-General of police, 6 Assistant Inspector-General of Police, and 17 Commissioner of Police.”
CP Akinwale Tajudeen Abass, who is now the new commissioner of Benue State Police, was a fomer DCP in the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), at the Oyo and Ogun state Command. He also served as the AC SCID in Delta State Police Command. CP Abass served as the Area Commander of Area C, Surulerre, Lagos State; amongst other leadership positions he had held in Nigerian police force.
The statement also included a charge by IGP Usman, to the new Police Commissioners, urging them to build on the successes achieved by their predecessors in the area of crime fighting and public safety.
“Ensure leadership roles in new areas of assignment, uphold policing virtues of professionalism, respect for the rule of law and citizens right.”
The police Chief also called on citizens to collaborate with the news police helmsmen, to enable them effectively deliver on their mandate.
