BLGCA TO SUSTAIN PARTNERSHIP WITH BENSACA IN THE FIGHT AGAINST HIV/AIDS IN BENUE STATE.
The Special Adviser to the Governor, Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs (BLGCA) Hon. Ken Achabo, has promised to collaborate with the Benue State Aids Control Agency (BENSACA) to sustain it’s fight against HIV/AIDS in the State.
Speaking during a courtesy visit on him by the Executive Secretary of BENSACA Dr. Tyo Terhile, the Special Adviser expressed delight over the familiarization visit of the ES to the Bureau, promising to work closely with him and the agency to succeed in it’s fight against HIV and the implemention of it’s health programs.
Hon. Achabo further thanked Governor Samuel Ortom for his visionary selection of young vibrant appointees to help his administration deliver to Benue people, the desired dividends of democracy.
Reacting, the Executive Secretary, BENSACA, Dr. Tyo, acknowledged the continuous support of the Bureau to the agency over the years saying, through the relentless efforts of the Governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom, HIV/AIDS prevalence rate in the state has significantly dropped from 15.4% to 4.9%, bringing Benue down from first on the chart of infections.
Dr. Tyo however, appealed for more collaborative efforts with relevant stakeholders to further pull Benue out of the chart to have a HIV free infected State.
