AONDOAKAA INFORMS KWANDE OF INTENTION TO CONTEST GOVERNORSHIP POLL
...bemoans campaign of calumny

Chief Michael Aondoakaa, SAN,
Dam Obed,
17th March,2022 –
As the cloud thickens and consultations gather steam for the 2023 governorship poll in Benue State, Chief Michael Aondoakaa, SAN, has formally informed the people of ”Kwande’ of his intention to throw his hat in the ring for the most sought-after seat.
He made the declaration at Ushongo Town, where political associates, stakeholders and party faithful of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in all the intermediate areas of Kwande LGA assembled in high spirits.
Aondoakaa, himself a Kwande son, comprising of Ushongo and Kwande LGAs, said it was time to formally declare his intention before his people and heartily speak on the need for Kwande people to wisely pursue and claim the Governorship seat in 2023 as one indivisible bloc.
He decried extensively the rising campaign of calumny within and outside the bloc against him on matters of law, he described as insignificant for anyone to use as a weapon of political warfare against his ambition.
“Having the ambition to contest for exalted positions should not be considered as a business to make fortunes. It is sad that some people are only contesting as a business. Instead of them focusing on that alone, they have resorted to bring to disrepute serious-minded aspirants who are all out to win. It is the same treatment the leader of our party, Senator Dr. George Akume is having from the people of Benue state. How can any well-meaning person write a petition against someone who served well as governor for 8years, Senator for 12years and now Minister by raising issues of disqualification? It is unfortunate.
“If we do not act fast to discourage any campaign against the oneness of Kwande, desperation could diminish the envious ancestral linkage of Kwande people. Kwande LGA only appears to stand aloof from Ushongo LGA only so for adminstrative convenience. Nobody and no interest can divide Kwande sons.
“All governorship aspirants from Kwande are imminently qualified to become the next governor of the state but we must become very courteous and rebuke any desperate behaviour from any of our sons from Kwande Barazov (Ushongo LGA) and Kwande Barakov (Kwande LGA) feeling more entitled than others as such behaviour would be inimical to the Kwande brotherhood that would outlive any of us,” he said.
Earlier, The Chairmen of APC in Kwande LGA, Hon. Terdoo Kenti and Ushongo LGA, Hon. Ukor Mteorga expressed satisfaction with the decision of the learned silk to formally inform his people of his ambition as timely and well-intentioned.
Hon. Barr Vincent Uji, Zonal Chairman of APC, Chief Major (Rtd), J.O Mayange, Hon. Terngu Shawon, Hon. Joseph Boko, Elder Doodi Inji and several others paid glowing tributes to Aondoakaa for taking into heart the oneness of his people and for pledging commitment to Kwande people above his ambition.
The high point of the event was the formal acceptance of the intention of the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice by party stakeholders with a charge on him to leave no stone unturned in finding the seat.
