Executive Chairman, BIRS, Chief (Mrs) Mimi Adzape-Orubibi when she visited Late Sixtus Tersoo Akure’ s (Catherine)
The executive Governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom has approved the automatic employment of the wife of a staff of Benue State Internal Revenue Service, BIRS, Late Sixtus Tersoo Akure who was recently whisked away by suspected military personnel at his duty post and his mangled body later found by the roadside.
This offer was disclosed to the wife of the deceased staff, Catherine Sixtus-Akure by the Executive Chairman, BIRS, Chief (Mrs) Mimi Adzape-Orubibi when she visited her (Catherine) and her children in Gboko where she stay’s with the mother of her late husband.
The chairman disclosed further that the Governor also approved the award of scholarship to the first son of the deceased to university level by the state government, and automatic employment after graduation.
Mrs. Orubibi while condoling the family over the irreparable loss apologized for her inability to attend the burial as she was away on a foreign trip. The revenue Boss equally conveyed to the family the condolence of Governor Samuel Ortom whom she said was also deeply touched by the circumstances under which Sixtus died, and assured them of the Governor’s concern for the wife and children.
The Chairman assured the family that she was stopping at nothing to ensure justice for Sixtus as the Benue State Chief Judge, Justice Aondover Kaka’an has ordered for a Coroner Inquest into the death of Sixtus. She expressed optimism in the Inquisition which has commenced and expressed the desire that the Inquisition will ultimately lead to the attainment of justice for the deceased. While praying for the repose soul of the deceased whom she described as a fearless gentleman who stood his ground for his job in the face of intimidation till death, the Chairman prayed also for divine protection over the lives of his children.
Responding, the mother of the deceased, Mrs. Eunice Akure who is a retired nurse said she was deeply saddened by the painful death of her only son Sixtus but has taken consolation by the good gesture of the Governor. While Mr. Jonathan Bendega, a neighbour and friend of the family also commended the Governor and Mrs Orubibi for standing by the family of Sixtus.
Late Sixtus Terfa Akure was until his untimely death a Senior Inspector of Taxes with BIRS.
