BENUE APC TOO BIG FOR AN AONDOAKAA SHOW

Dam Obed –

It is quite sad and hilarious that someone would sit down and invent a tale, alleging that Chief Michael Aondoakaa, SAN, the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, is funding the All Progressives Congress, APC in Benue State singlehandedly. This is a ruse and a desperate attempt to pitch the party’s united governorship hopefuls against Aondoakaa, who enjoys a cordial and open relationship with all aspirants.

On the basis of competence, experience, and sincerity to serve the state, the Benue APC has the best governorship aspirants in the state when compared to other political parties. Professors, Engineers, Managers of Grade-A companies, renowned spiritual leaders, business consultants, serving political office holders, leaders of parastatals, and others make up the party and as governorship aspirants.

It is also important to remember that whilst aspirants in the party may not be wealthy enough to run for a political office, they have built vibrant friendship within and outside the state they can draw on to help bankroll their ambition. This is the case with Aondoakaa, who has been in charge of his massive rice factory since leaving office in 2010, apart from being one of the best Senior Advocates of Nigeria.

Chief Aondoakaa is a staunch member of the party and would never hesitate to support the party at all times in good spirits, just like any other well-intentioned member who wants the party to be formidable enough to win elections in 2023. Besides, some party members have made greater sacrifices for the party than Aondoakaa for him to claim entitlement for the party’s governorship ticket that all aspirants have equal chances of being the party’s flag bearer.

Apart from the well-heeled aspirants, the party is in power at the national level, with a serving Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Dr George Akume, who was a two term governor and three terms Senator, such that without any sort of influence from any aspirant, the leader of the party with vast contacts and influence should not be disputed to conduct the affairs of the party free and fair.

It is on record that Aondoakaa has on several occasions declared that his ambition to govern the state is not on do-or-die basis, but wishes that all aspirants (including himself) be carefully scrutinized, in order to ascertain their level of preparedness and grand knowledge of serving to transform the State.

To this end, the circulating tale should be disregarded as cheap lies and dismissed as a trap set in the APC camp by mischief makers with the express purpose of provoking discontent and nonprogressive internal squabbles amongst aspirants.
