
ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY: AIIVON INNOVATION HUB HITS BENUE, CALLS FOR APPLICATIONS FROM YOUTHS AND WOMEN IN AGRIBUSINESSES

Aiivon Innovation Hub in partnership with Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) has called for applications from women and youths the ages of 18 to 35 to participate in the Agribusiness Innovation Challenge in Benue.
Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) is a Swiss-based foundation focused on tackling the human suffering caused by malnutrition. Through this partnership, participating Agripreneurs, Agri-tech startups in Benue State with solutions to supply chain solutions in the agriculture sector would get access to technical assistance training to strengthen their capacity, and improve their access to financial services to improve supply chain efficiency.
Aiivon Innovation Hub which has supported thousands of youths in different capacity-building projects around ICT, the creative Industry, and financing made the call for applications into the Agribusiness Innovation Challenge on Friday, 9th of September 2022, during the official media launch of the Agribusiness Innovation Challenge in Makurdi, Benue State.
Speaking at the event, the Agribusiness Innovation Challenge Makurdi Lead consultant, and Aiivon Innovation Hub’s Program Manager, Olayemi Akangbe urged interested women and youths between the ages of 18-35 in Benue who are into Agribusinesses to use technology to improve supply chain efficiency, i.e innovations that improve processing, storage, transport, Wholesaling/retailing, and Marketing access in the agriculture sector, to apply for the challenge on or before Oct 3, 2022, through aic.aiivon.comaic.aiivon.com
Olayemi further stated that interested businesses must be at their early stage and not at an idea stage and they should have two or more founders, “We will select 15 businesses to participate in the program at the end, four successful businesses would be selected for the prize money while other participants would also have direct access to International investors” Olayemi said.
The Agribusiness Innovation Challenge Challenge competition culminates in an award day where finalists battle for 5,000,000 in zero-equity prize money.
“Applications are now open until October 3, 2022. Selected participants will be notified by October 6th, 2022.”
The statement explained that startup businesses without formal registration can apply for the competition. Those between ages 18 and 35 are most preferred in this category, it was explained.
