LEGAL YEAR 2022/2023: FORMER AGF, MIKE AONDOKAA, SAN URGES NIGERIANS TO REFLECT ON THE FUTURE OF NIGERIA

The Nigerian Bar Association legal week is an annual event that holds across the chapters in the country.

This year’s grand finale was held September 26, 2022, at the State High Court in Makurdi, under the theme: “State of the Nation and the Future of Nigeria.”

Speaking at the event, Chief Michael Aondoakaa, SAN, former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister for Justice, said that this year’s theme was deliberate, because of the enormity of problems and irregularities that the nation is currently dealing with. This he said has forced everyone to take prompt action.

In his words, the 2023 gubernatorial aspirant in Benue State said:
“The theme for this year, demonstrates how well the NBA Makurdi Branch comprehends the general mood of the country. Nobody is unaware of the difficulties confronting us. Therefore, no one should give up, without pushing for concepts and ideas that will bring about sanity.”

This year’s annual law week in Benue State, focused on the necessity of taking purposeful action to use our democracy and the law to create the future that Nigerians want. It also served as a tactic warning against the results of inaction in the face of problems facing Nigeria and Benue state.

The theme is not unconnected with that of the recently held NBA Annual General Congress in Lagos, where the learned gentlemen traced the way forward for Nigeria’s nationhood.
