NIGERIA AT 62: ACHABO CELEBRATES INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH MBACHOHON PEOPLE IN AGAGBE, GWER WEST LGA
As Nigeria marks her 62 years of freedom from colonial rule, the Special Adviser to the Governor, Bureau of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Ken Achabo Atam today mobilized Mbachohon Elders, Women, Youths political associates and friends across Tyoshin nation to celebrate the Country’s independence in his home town, Agagbe – Mbachohon, headquarters of Mbakpa, Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Special Adviser stated that he has decided to sacrifice his other engagements to spend the day with his people at the village to show how important they are to him and the PDP, informing that the ongoing rural electrification project at Tse Jija, Tse Anyakpa, Tse Kyorgbu and the current electricity been enjoyed by residents of Agagbe town are all courtesy of the Governor, His Excellency, Dr Samuel Ortom.
Hon. Achabo added that the Naka – Agagbe road been vigorously constructed would be completed and commisioned by the Ortom administration to ease transportation challenges in the area.
The Special Adviser further thanked Governor Samuel Ortom and his wife, Dr. Eunice Erdoo Ortom for finding him worthy to serve in his administration. He emphasized that the only way Tyoshin people especially Mbachohon can better appreciate the Governor is to vote massively for him to represent the people of Zone ‘B’ at the Senate and other PDP candidates in 2023.
Earlier, the Honourable Commissioner for Works and Transport, Engr. Jude Uungwa who accompanied Hon. Achabo to witness the occasion said he can personally attest to the political segacity of the Adviser as one of his principal benefactors. He called on Mbachohon people to shun on forms of deceit from desperate politicians in the opposition parties and queue behind their son to enable him do more for the development of Mbachohon and indeed the entire Gwer West.
Engr. Uungwa further said, he had a stop over at Agbanu Village along Naka -Agagbe road to supervise the progress of work and was impressed with the quality of work done, expressing hope that the project would be completed to specifications within the stipulated period.
In his welcome address, elder Orhena Jegele, thanked Hon. Achabo for always remembering his people in the village despite his tight schedules, saying Mbachohon people have already taken a decision to support the Adviser and would not go back to continue suffering in the opposition parties. Mr. Orhena extolled the legacies of Hon. Achabo in Tyoshin land within his two years in office which according to him, is enough reason for every reasonable son of Gwer West to vote for the PDP.
Commenting, a former PDP Woman Leader of Mbachohon Ward, Mrs. Mary Akwanya appreciated the Special Adviser for his efforts in sustaining PDP in Mbachohon Ward.
Speaking separately, the PDP Ward Chairman for Mbachohon Mr. Uparegh Christopher, a representative of the youths Mr. Amela Cletus and Director General, Mbachohon PDP Ward campaign Council Mr. Iorlumun Wayo all appreciated Hon. Achabo for his mobilization prowess, noting that the massive decamping of candidates from other political parties into the PDP in Gwer West is a manifestation of his good works.
Hon. Achabo also received thousands of decampees from the All Progressives Congress – APC, Labour Party- LP and other political parties who submitted their opposition membership cards to the Mbachohon PDP Ward Chairman for destruction to prove their denunciation of their former parties in the area.
