MIKE ASSOH EMERGES AS ANA BENUE CONSENSUS CANDIDATE FOR NATIONAL LEGAL ADVISER
The Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA), which is the highest body of writers in Africa started in 1981; and it’s 40th Anniversary was celebrated in 2021. The 42nd Anniversary is coming up in November this year.
Essentially, as part of preparations for the Elective National Convention of the Association of Nigerian Authors scheduled from 1st through 4th November, 2023, Leaders and Stakeholders of the Benue State Chapter of the Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) met on Thursday, 28th September, 2023 at the residence of Prof. Maria Ajima, ANA Board of Trustees Member where they unanimously endorsed Mike T. Assoh Esq as the Sole Candidate from Benue for the position of National Legal Adviser of the Association.
The Expanded Stakeholders meeting was attended by Prof. Maria Ajima, ANA Board of Trustee (BOT) Member who doubled as the Host, Prof. Moses Tsenongu, ANA Fellow, Maik Ortserga, ANA General Secretary, Onwanyi Ulegede ANA Benue Chairperson, Dr. Raymond Tavershima Anumve, Dr. Elvis Ogenyi, Sam Ogabidu, Dr. Charles Iornumbe, the current Director-General of Radio Benue, Paul Uga all Past Chairmen of ANA Benue were also in attendance.
Others at the meeting included Prof. Leticia Nyitse who is a Professor at Benue State University, Makurdi, Igba Ogbole, a retired Director with Radio Benue and now General Manager of Agate Radio, Hon. Otse Otokpa, Special Adviser to the immediate past Governor of Benue State among others.
The elders resolved that it will be in the overall interest of ANA Benue if only one candidate is put forward for the position of National Legal Adviser of ANA and proceeded to endorse Mike T. Assoh Esq, who had earlier served as State Legal Adviser of the Association of Nigerian Authors, Benue Chapter.
With this development, the ground is now set for Mike T. Assoh Esq to activate his Campaign and reach out to other State Chapters for support. It also behoves of ANA Benue Members to swing into action by mobilizing support from across ANA Chapters for their Sole Candidate in the Race for the National Legal Adviser.
Meanwhile, preparations are in top gear for the 42nd ANA Convention; and Members across the country are undergoing a revalidation process with their State Chapters in order to update their information in the National Register.
