
Benue residents react on the new national anthem
The President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu Wednesday on the occasion of his one year in office accented a bill reverting to the old national Anthem.
This development has elicited reactions from Nigerians. Some Nigerians were stunned with reverting to the old National Anthem which many especially among the young generations are not conversant with.

Public Affairs Analyst, he insists that “changing the national Symbols like the anthem is not Nigeria’s problem at the moment.” He says the law as passed by the national assembly is “unpopular and uncalled for.”Other Nigerians including say the National Anthem is John Shiaondo and Nick Dechi, both of them journalists for decades say poverty and the high cost of living, occasioned by the removal of fuel subsidy are Nigeria’s problem, not the national anthem.

Recitation of the National Anthem is a mark of patriotism and loyalty, expected of every citizen as an obligation.
