From an eyewitness report by one of our correspondence who was live at the burial which took place on the 15th June, 2024, Alueshima declared her intention to study Law immediately after the corpses of her parents (twin) were unveiled for sight seeing at their homeland as tradition demands, without a drop of tears in her eyes in a such a situation that was crowded by mourners, crying from all angles. From a brief interview with her by our correspondence, the young girl disclosed that her intention to become a lawyer has been moved by the unconstitutional death of her parents, who are twin, born on the same day, arrested on the same day, brutally killed on the same day and buried on the same day. According to her, the judicial system in Nigeria needs people like her into the system who have suffered in the hands of jungle justice to make sure that justice is given to others no matter the situation.

Asked how she intended to study a professional course like Law that is financially involving when her parents are no longer alive to cater for her, the young girl maintained that God who initiated the plan will not forsake her until her wish is granted.

The death of the twin, Aondohemba Cletus Tar and Ushahemba Clement Tar who were both born on 14th July, 1980 and died at the age of forty-four was in indeed tragic. They died leaving behind eight children and three wives. Further inquiries by our correspondence revealed that on the 4th of June, 2024, the victims left their village for Makurdi, the Benue State capital to attend to a lawsuit at the Benue State High Court, Makurdi, for a land dispute involving their community in which they were also summoned. The report gathered that the Council Head of Saghev Council Ward and other traditional rulers were also summoned to court in  Makurdi on the same day and for the same reason.

While crossing River Buruku, they were arrested by the operatives of Operation Zenda and handed over to the Police at the Police Divisional Headquarters, Buruku Local Government. Sources from the family of the deceased gathered that on the day they were arrested, they had a bike (Bajaj) with them, handsets and other valuables that their where about was not known from the time this report was filed. The reason for the arrest was not stated anywhere, but from a copy of an Affidavit as to the Settlement of Death Case out of Court obtained by the family of the deceased in the Customary Court of Appeal of Benue State of Nigeria in the Benue State Judicial Division on the 14th of June, 2024, it was revealed that after their detention at the Police Divisional Headquarters, Buruku, a mob action by youths of the said area attacked the police station and leached them shortly after their detention for reasons not yet revealed as at the time this report was filed.

More inquiries review that the police took the corpses and deposited them at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital Mortuary around 2:40Pm on the 4th of June, 2024. The development prompted the traditional council of the land, Saghev Council Ward in collaboration with the family to seek for the release of their corpses which was finally done after an Affidavit to the Settlement of Death Case out of Court at the Customary Court of Appeal, Makurdi, Benue State, Nigeria.

The arrest, detention and the entire scenario surrounding the death of these two brothers have left some questions unanswered as the whole situation is complicated owing to the fact that the Nigerian police has not given proper explanation as to what exactly transpired, leading to the mob action against them at Buruku as the Affidavit claimed and the where about of their valuables, and the reason for their arrest. This situation indeed has questioned the justice system in Nigeria in which suspects are brutally killed by mob action even in the presence of constitutionally recognised authorities like the Nigerian Police, a body that is meant to safeguard lives and properties, understanding fully that an accuse is innocent until proven guilty in a competent court of law.
