
GOV SULE ON SYMPATHY VISIT, DONATES ₦150 MILLION TO SUPPORT VICTIMS OF BENUE ATTACK

The Governor of Nasarawa state, His Excellency Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, on Tuesday, June17`, led a high-powered delegation of government officials and traditional leaders on a condolence visit to the Government and people of Benue State following recent attacks that claimed innocent lives in Yelewata, Guma Local Government Area.
Addressing his Benue counterpart, Governor Hyacinth Alia, at the Government House in Makurdi, Engr. Sule strongly condemned the violence and emphasized the need for inter-state collaboration in intelligence sharing, early warning systems, and joint peacebuilding efforts. He reiterated Nasarawa State’s commitment to supporting Benue in pursuing justice and ensuring that such tragedies are prevented in the future.
Governor Sule made a donation of One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira only (₦150,000,000) to the Benue State Government as support to the state and to victims as well as families of those affected.
Governor Alia, who was represented by his Deputy, Barr. Samuel Ode, expressed deep appreciation for the solidarity shown by Nasarawa State. He assured that both states would continue to work closely to strengthen peace, deepen mutual respect, and maintain their long-standing cordial relationship.
The Nasarawa delegation included the Secretary to the Government of the State (SGS), members of the State Executive Council, the Emir of Lafia and Chairman of the Nasarawa State Council of Chiefs in company of Royal Fathers, and heads of security agencies among other top government officials.
