
FIRST LADY VISITS BENUE STIRS HOPE WITH DONATON OF ₦1 BILLION TO DISPLACED PEOPLE
The wife of the president and First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Her Excellency, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, On July 29, 2025, visited Benue State, bringing with her a generous donation of ₦1 billion under the Renewed Hope Initiative to support displaced families.
On her arrival His Excellency Rev. Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia, The Executive Governor of Benue State was on ground to receive the First Lady in the state, as she joined Benue in mourning and consoling the people who continue to suffer the tragic consequences of violent attacks and displacement by armed herders.
In their discussions, the Gov. Hyacinth Alia called on the First Lady to champion the regional domestication of the Open Grazing Prohibition and Ranches Establishment Law across the North Central zone. According him, the Uniform enforcement is essential if the government is to stop the free movement of armed violators who exploit policy gaps between states.
The First Lady was accompanied by the Wife of the Vice President, Her Excellency, Hajiya Nana Shettima; the wife of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Her Excellency, Hon. Mrs. Regina Akume; the wife of the Deputy Senate President; the wives of the Governors of Bayelsa, Gombe, Nasarawa, Katsina, Kogi, and Taraba States; and other distinguished personalities.
