
GOVERNOR MUTFWANG CONGRATULATES PROF. JOASH OJO AMUPITAN (SAN) ON HIS APPOINTMENT AS INEC CHAIRMAN

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, His Excellency, Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, has joined numerous well-wishers across the nation and beyond in congratulating Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan (SAN) on his nomination and confirmation by the National Council of State as the new Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a congratulatory message, Governor Mutfwang described Prof. Amupitan as a towaring figure, a patriotic Nigerian, a strategic thinker, and a detribalized leader whose immense contributions have continued to shape the course of good governance and democratic advancement across the country.
The Governor expressed deep appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for finding Prof. Amupitan worthy of this national assignment and for recognizing the North Central geopolitical zone with this important appointment. He further assured that with divine guidance and the wealth of experience the new INEC Chairman brings to the table, will undoubtedly deliver on the mandate entrusted to him with integrity and excellence.
Governor Mutfwang noted that Prof. Amupitan, an alumnus of the University of Jos and currently the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Administration), of the University, is a distinguished academic, a repository of knowledge, and a moral compass in Nigeria’s public discourse. He added that the professor’s enduring commitment to scholarship, democracy, and the rule of law has left an indelible mark on Nigeria’s political evolution.
He stated that through his scholarly works, public lectures, and engagements, Prof. Amupitan has consistently demonstrated a steadfast belief in the principles of unity, inclusion, and accountable leadership. “Through his pen and podium,” the Governor remarked, “he has continued to educate generations, shape public policy, and enrich the nation’s intellectual landscape.”
He appealed to the Senate to ensure his confirmation so that the nation can benefit from his wealth of experience and expertise.
On behalf of the Government and the good people of Plateau State, Governor Mutfwang congratulated Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan (SAN) on his well-deserved appointment as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission. He prayed God Almighty to grant him wisdom, strength, and good health as he embarks on the noble task of consolidating and deepening Nigeria’s democratic institutions.
