Sixtus Coroner Inquest: Court Admits Autopsy

Mike Ustaha Esq, who is the counsel representing late Sixtus Terfa, former Benue State Internal Revenue staff, who was alleged to have been murdered by some men of the Nigerian Army, 72 brigades, has today presented an autopsy report during the coroner inquest, held at the Chief Magistrate Court, Makurdi.

Presenting the autopsy report, Barr Ustaha says, four witnesses are ready to testify in the coroner. The chief security adviser to the Benue state government and the doctor who conducted the autopsy would testify in the open court on the next adjourned date; while the two other witnesses would testify in the chamber, for security reasons.

At the last inquest that was held on the 23rd of March 2022, the Benue state Commissioner of Police, Tajudeen Abass and eight other BIRS Staff testified of the soldier’s involvement in the death of Mr. Terfa Sixtus.

Today’s session which is the second sitting of the coroner inquest was presided over by His worship, Vincent Kor Esq. who admitted the autopsy report as an exhibit, and adjourned the inquest to the 6th of April 2022 for further hearing.

Mr. Terfa Sixtus was reported to have been found dead on the 16th of January after being whisked away in a military patrol van belonging to 72 Brigade, Nigerian Army.

So far the Army has denied any involvement in his death.
