Amazing Xmas Gift: Justice Lilian Tsumba Donates Church To Nasarawa Community
The 22nd of December, 2024 witnessed the “Second most amazing Story” ever told after the Christmas story. It is a story of Justice Lilian N. Tsumba and the community of Ekpan Lilley which began with the first encounter in 2017.
While heading to Markudi from Abuja, Justice Lilian Tsumba’s car broke down in an inelegant reality around Ekpan Lilley. Together with her daughter and other co-travelers, they took refuge under a tree while the car was being fixed.
While they waited, she saw some country women walked into a small church beside them and instantly Justice Tsumba’s heart was softened for these women who did not have a better place of worship but were so determined in their faith in God. She felt the urge to build a new church for the community. Without knowing what domination the small church belonged to, and not minding the fact that it is in Nasarawa state while she is from Benue state, Justice Lilian took a leap of faith and decided to build a Church. After making adequate inquiries and consultations, she began building the magnificent edifice of St. Mary Ekpan Lilley, which was blessed, dedicated and commissioned to the Glory of God on Sunday 22nd December 2024.
It was a historic event that brought unprecedented Joy and glamour to the small community of Ekpan Lilley, as high profile dignitaries ranging from Chief Justices (Serving and retired), the Benue State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, traditional leaders, clergy men, top Government functionaries across the length and breadth of the country came to witness the dedication of the church building.
Ekpan Lilley is a town in Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. It is located along the Nasarawa Eggon – Akwanga road. For those coming from Nasarawa Eggon, the church could be seen immediately after the toll gate to your right. While for those coming from Akwanga, it is to your left, about 300 metres before the toll gate. For those who would travel on that road during the Christmas season, ensure that you do not miss the sight of the Church from which has emerged the second best story that is ever told.
