GRACE ADAYILO’S ELEVATION: VICTORY FOR GENDER POLICY IN NIGERIA -SPSP PRESIDENT
The President of the Society for Peace Studies and Practice SPSP, and Board Chairman of the Transmitter Media, Mr Nathaniel Msen Awuapila, fspsp, has on Tuesday 15th February, 2025 paid an unscheduled visit to congratulate and appreciate Mrs Grace Adayilo, who is the first woman of Gbagyi origin to rise to the position of Head of Service, Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
In a congratulatory remark during the visit, the SPSP President said that Mrs Adayilo’s elevation represents a significant victory for Nigeria’s Gender Policy and, indeed, victory for all women of minority origins.
The President who fondly referred to the Head of Service as SPSP’s landlady because of the location of SPSP’s Administrative Office in the FCT, noted that this was an unscheduled visit, but that he would soon formally pay her a courtesy visit with other leaders of the Society.
The President’s visit was also premised on the fact that Mrs Adayilo’s appointment demonstrates the disposition of the Honourable Minister of FCT, Chief Nyesom Wike, to issues of gender equality.
He congratulated the Head of Service and promised to find an appropriate opportunity to also visit and congratulate the FCT Minister.
