NBA MAKURDI BRANCH CHAIRMAN EXTOLS MEMBERS FOR YLF 2025 ANNUAL SUMMIT
The Chairman Nigeria Bar Association, Terna Yaji has commended members of the Nigerian Bar Association, Makurdi Branch for the generous donations made to the Young Lawyers Forum for the successful hosting of their 2025 Annual Summit.The Chairman in an inspiring speech made the commendation while delivering his goodwill message and declaring the summit open.Speaking at the event, he commended the NBA members, particularly the Senior Advocate of Nigeria, the Honourable Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice and Public Order as well as other Senior Lawyers for their support.He further admonished the Young Lawyer on the need for complying with regulated dress code for lawyers during official events. He also enjoined lawyers to uphold the ethics of the Profession to avoid the wrath of the Legal Practitioner Disciplinary Committee.On the Remuneration Order 2023, the Chairman charged the Young Lawyers to adhere to the provisions of the Remuneration Order 2023 to avoid undercharging their fees in order to also enhance their practice.On the issue of the on-going Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria (JUSUN), the Chairman reiterated that with the series of meeting and the intervention of the NBA President, Maxi Afam Osigwe, SAN, he hopes that the issue will soon be laid to rest and the strike suspended to enable lawyers continue with their business of law practice.The 2025 Annual Summit under the leadership of Terna Paul Iorhemen was held under the theme “Legal Practice; Beyond Courtroom Advocacy” with Haris Paul Ogbole as the Guest Speaker and Mrs Mwuese Mnyim, Esq and Sunday Sabe, Esq as Speakers.
