EX- BENUE GOVERNOR, ORTOM MOURNS THE DEATH OF HRH JAM GBINDE

Benue State is again thrown into mourning as His Royal Highness, Chief Thomas Tule Jam Gbinde has passed on.
The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Chief Samuel Ioraer Ortom , says the death of Ter Ikyor, His Royal Highness Chief Thomas Tule Jam Gbinde, is a huge loss to Tiv land and the state at large.
A statement made available to newsmen by Mr. Terver Akase, Media Aide to Chief Samuel Ortom, describes Chief Jam Gbinde as a revered traditional ruler, a man of integrity, and a pillar of peace and justice who has left behind a legacy rooted in compassion, forthrightness, truthfulness and dedication to his people.
“His Royal Highness, Chief Thomas Jam Gbinde, was a true embodiment of integrity, compassion, and uncommon commitment to the causes of his people. His leadership was marked by fairness, humility, and a deep commitment to justice, guiding his community with wisdom and a genuine love for his subjects. His legacy is one of peace, unity, and fairness in governance – an enduring testament to a life devoted to service and the well-being of others.”
The former governor states that the late Ter Ikyor was one of the royal fathers who supported his administration with timely, objective, and useful advice to succeed.
Chief Ortom noted that the late Ter Ikyor played a pivotal role in fostering peace and unity across his domain, as well as in broader Tiv land and other parts of Benue State, particularly through his efforts in mediating conflicts and promoting development.
Chief Ortom sends heartfelt condolences to the Jam Gbinde family; the people of Konshisha Local Government Area; the Tor Jechira, HRH Chief Edward Ujege; the Tor Tiv, HRM Prof. James Ayatse, on behalf of the Tiv Traditional Council; and indeed the entire Tiv nation.
The former Governor prays to God to grant the late Ter Ikyor eternal rest and his family the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
