FIRST LADY OLUREMI BOLA TINUBU MEETS TRADITIONAL RULERS IN TARABA STATE

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has called on traditional leaders in Taraba State to join the campaign against HIV/AIDS, syphilis, and hepatitis to improve the country’s health sector.
Senator Tinubu made this appeal during a meeting with the traditional council as part of her two-day working visit to the state.
Addressing the assembled traditional rulers, she emphasized the importance of collaborating with traditional institutions to eradicate diseases such as HIV/AIDS, syphilis, and Hepatitis to strengthen the nation’s health sector.

The First Lady urged the traditional rulers to support health advocacy efforts within their communities. She also announced plans to distribute midwifery support packages in the Northeast region, noting that Taraba is the fourth zone she is visiting as part of this campaign.
Through the Renewed Hope initiative, funds have been allocated to empower thousands of women across Nigeria. Senator Tinubul stated that 1,000 women in Taraba State will benefit from a 50-million-naira support fund, with each receiving 50,000 naira.
The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, welcomed the First Lady and her delegation during the event and pledged her support to the success of the programme.
The Chairman of the Taraba State Council of Chiefs and Emirs, His Royal Majesty Dr Ishaku Adda Ali, expressed his delight at the First Lady’s visit and prayed that it would bring positive change to the state.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Health, Professor Mohammed Ali Pate, along with several wives of governors and other dignitaries.
