NUC OKAYS ESTABLISHMENT OF NEW UNIVERSITY IN BENUE STATE

State University of Agriculture, Science and Technology (BUSAST), located in Ihugh, Vandeikya Local Government Area becomes the second state-owned university in the state.
The Executive Secretary of the NUC, Prof. Abdullahi Ribadu, formally presented the licence to Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Samuel Ode.
GALAXY TV noted Prof. Ribadu observation that the addition of BUSAST brings the total number of state-owned universities in Nigeria to 68, and raises the overall number of universities in the country to 299.
In his remarks, Governor Alia, through his Deputy, described the approval as a significant milestone in the state’s educational development.
He assured the NUC that Benue State would pursue the mandate of the new university with dedication and promptly provide the necessary infrastructure and resources to help the institution achieve its full potential.
