COAS Lays Foundation for Special Forces School in Nasarawa
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt. Gen. Olufemi Oluyede, on Friday, August 15, 2025, laid the foundation for the Nigerian Army Special Forces School (NASFS) in Doma, Nasarawa State.
Describing the institution as “a legacy of excellence, bravery, and sacrifice,” the Army Chief said the school will redefine elite troop training, enhance combat power, and strengthen Nigeria’s security architecture.
The event also witnessed the commissioning of the 4 Special Forces Command Headquarters and a modern Officers’ Mess, facilities designed to boost operational capacity, improve troop welfare, and uplift morale.
Earlier, Gen. Oluyede paid a courtesy visit to Governor Abdullahi Sule in Lafia, where he reaffirmed the Army’s commitment to national security. The Governor, in turn, commended the military for safeguarding the state and creating an environment for socio-economic growth.
The occasion was marked by a symbolic tree-planting, the presentation of a gift by the Andoma of Doma, and a group photograph with dignitaries.
