Consuming mangoes can help protect and strengthen the body in several ways. According to a Clinical Dietician with the Federal Medical Center, Makurdi in person of Eche David Etonu said Mango is high in vitamin which promotes healthy hair and skin. This is essential for making collagen, a protein that gives structure to the skin and hair. He also said it is very important to consume mango because it protects the body against heart disease, cancer and others. Etonu further said when someone has constipation, he or she should endeavor to eat some quantity of mango to help digest the food properly; it has fibre rich in flavor and keeps the body refreshing. The Dietician noted that the Vitamins in the mango protect, build and maintain the fighting cells in the body.

On his part, Dan Morgan Ihumon said consuming mangoes is very important as water is to life. He concurred with the Dieticians that the anti-dioxide in mango purifies the body against diseases. He also said the back of a mango fruit is equally medicinal as it also has its benefits for nutritional value.

Kingsley Azubuike who operates a patent store on Abu King Shuluwa Road, Akpehe said people should not just eat mango for eating sake, but should always eat fresh ones for hygiene purposes. Azubuike said Mangoes taste better when slightly chilled.

For Tavershima Kyado, he does not like Mangoes and he is not aware of its nutritional value or health benefits.
