NIGERIAN BAR ASSOCIATION MAKURDI BRANCH ELECTS NEW EXCO

NBA Makurdi Branch Elections

The Nigerian Bar Association, (NBA), Makurdi Branch Saturday 6th June turned out enmass to decide who lead the affairs of the noble organization for another tenure of 2 years.
Many participants laud the process as one of a kind. According to S.E Irabor esq, “the election was peaceful calm and progressive.”
The election, adjudged as tight and highly contested, produced winners with slim margin.
According to the Chairman of the election Committee, Dan Ogo, the following result was presented:
1. Barr. Justin A. Gbagi, Chairman;
2. Barr. Basil Hemba, Vice Chairman;
3. Bar. Mnyim Fidelis Secretary;
4. Barr.Titus Akuha Assistant Secretary;
5. Barr. Esther Onoja, Welfare Secretary;
6. Barr. Lucy Shima Dondo, Social Secretary;
7. Barr. Avershima Josephine, Treasurer;
8. Barr. Ushahemba Dekaa, Barr. Sunday Ako and Barr. Veronica Attah were retained as Publicity Secretary,
9. Financial Secretary and
10. Provost respectively.
Many voters showered their expectations on the newly elected EXCO. They say “we want the EXCO to connect our chapter with the outer world, not limiting our activities to only Makurdi chapter.
Others largely applaud the outgoing EXCO for a sound leadership, especially in the area of welfare. According to Barr. Tyeku Joseph, the past administration has done well, especially in dealing with welfare issues of members, though shortcomings would always be there.
Barr.T. Pusa says “we expect the winners to run an all inclusive administration; to be a listening type and not a talking type. For those who contested but lost there is always another day.”
The new EXCO will be inaugurated on June 13th 2020.
