NBA MAKURDI BRANCH EXCO RECEIVE CERTIFICATES OF RETURN

Following the election of 6th June, 2020 in NBA Makurdi Branch, the Electoral Committee (ELCOM) led by Dan Ogo Esq, presented certificates of return to the newly elected 11 member EXCO.
In his speech, the ELCOM Chairman expressed joy that “it has not been easy since the election process was distorted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Makurdi NBA Chapter is always a pacesetter and we had to sustain that feat.” Dan Ogo further condemned devisive politics in NBA, stating that there should be no individual interest when voting people into office. He urge the incoming EXCO to heal all wounds created by the elections.
The ELCOM Chairman further affirmed that “the certificates we have issued today bestows power upon you and is a key to open even closed doors; as such, self conduct is very necessary to earn love and respect from members of the BAR. Shun tribalism and adhere strictly to rule of law.”
On his part, the Chairman elect, Justine A. Gbagir Esq, appreciated all for their contributions. In his words “I am overwhelmed, because finally I got the NBA chairman seat, a position I contested for three times. The only binding force for most of us is the BAR aside which some of our paths wouldn’t have crossed.” He says he sees unity as a major tool for progress and in his capacity he will try his best to unite the BAR and close all potholes.” He further appealed for support from all who contested elections along the elected EXCO and generally, members of the Bar, saying “together we shall build the bar.”
The new Exco will be inaugurated on Friday 12th June 2020.
