Receiving the vehicles during a brief ceremony at the Benue Peoples House on Monday 4th April, 2022, the Executive Chairman BIRS, Chief (Mrs) Mimi Adzape-Orubibi appreciated the Governor for the donation and his support for the fight against illegal revenue operators in the state.

The Chairman also assured the Governor that the vehicles will be used effectively for the desired purpose.

Earlier while handing over the vehicles, Gov. Ortom said his administration is committed to boost the internally generated revenue of the state.

The Governor stressed that the activities of criminal elements in the state posing as revenue collectors on the highways has affected markets across the state thereby depriving the state of revenue for economic development.

He said the vehicles will boost the capacity of BIRS to crackdown on the operators of the illegal checkpoints, and urged the revenue agency not to relent on the fight.

The three hillux patrol vehicles are for the three senatorial zones of the state.
