Wife of the Executive Governor of Benue State, Dr. Eunice Ortom today, Tuesday 5th April 2022 led select female political stakeholders to an interactive session with the state chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Sir John Ngbede.
In her remarks, The Benue State First Lady appreciated the state chairman of the party for his commitment to inclusion of women in politics especially as regards the ruling party in the state under his leadership has given in the local Government polls.

Mrs. Ortom asserted that the meeting with the Benue State chairman of PDP was to remind him of the party’s commitment with the women of the state as it relates to other elective positions in the forthcoming general elections saying that at the time when the world is clamoring for more inclusion of women in elective and administrative positions, it was only natural that a state like Benue which had already given women such opportunities should do even more to increase women representation at various levels to help them achieve their political goals.
Responding, The state chairman of PDP Sir John Ngbede commended the first Lady for been an ardent advocate for the fair inclusion of women in political and administrative positions saying her passion and enthusiasm towards the wholesome development of women has created an impact that will be felt by generations to come.
Sir Ngbede reiterated that the state Chapter of the party under the leadership of His Excellency Samuel Ortom, the Executive Governor of the state is built on justuce and equity and so they are committed to providing a level play ground for all members of the party with special attention to women.
He acknowledged the challenges that women go through during the electioneering process at local, state as well as federal levels and assured that the party is sensitive about it and would put it into consideration.
