FLOOD VICTIMS CRIES OUT TO GOVERNMENT

Flood Victims in Makurdi, are calling on the government to control flood in the state capital, to avert disaster. They have lost property and some cannot access their homes, as a result of torrential rains. Speaking to the Transmitter Media in the Gyado Villa area of Makurdi town, Iye Felicity says rainfall has become a nightmare to her and her neighborhood. She says this is a yearly occurrence that has made life quite burdensome.
Another flood Victim who preferred not to be named says the Government has failed to provide the necessary environment to caution the flood. He laments that his property has been destroyed in the flood.
Another victim, who gives his name as Emmanuel says, he cannot access his house as flood took over the entire environment. He called for assistance from the government and spirited individuals to help out.
The victims recount their ordeal to our reporter who was in the affected areas of the town. Most part of the Makurdi township have been poorly constructed, without drainages. To this, flood has become a yearly occurrence.
