Students Beg ASUU To Return As Other Unions Suspend Action

University Students have pleaded with the Academic Staff Union of Universities to suspend its current Strike to enable them continue with studies.
The appeal followed the suspension of strike by SSANU and NASU.
Gloria Depuun said the prolonged ASUU strike has caused her untold trauma. She lamented that she may not be eligible to participate in the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC scheme due to age.

Caleb Wombu based his call on the fact that since SSANU and NASU had called off their strike, ASUU should follow their example for the sake of the students.
Final year student of Benue State University in the Mass Communication Department, Godwin Ioryisa said, it is time for the government to do the needful and save the future of young people seeking public university education in Nigeria.
The University unions downed tools since February demanding for earned allowances, addressing infrastructural deficits as well as payment options. SSANU and NASU have suspended the strike to give way for further negotiations.
ASUU however insists it salary arrears, accumulated because of the no work no pay policy be paid before it can suspend the over six months strike.
