In his goodwill message, the Minister for Special Duties and Inter-governmental affairs, Sen. George Akume appreciated the federal government for reopening the office. Represented by his Chief of Staff- Chris Tarkaa, the Minister thanked Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Jime, Executive Secretary/CEO of the council for a great job.

Stakeholders including All Farmers Association of Nigeria, transporters and the APC governorship candidate in the 2023 elections, Fr. Hyacinth Alia appreciated the council for the opportunity given to Benue people.

The Makurdi Area Office of the Nigerian Shippers’ Council covers Benue and Nassarawa States. The office was created in 1999 and closed in 2019 to cut down cost of governance. Highlights of the two day event was the commissioning of the office complex, awards presentation to the CEO and cutting of one year in office anniversary cake.
