She said: “we came to first familiarise ourselves, this is a new leadership of NBA that has come on board. And looking at the fact that we are all serving in the Justice sector, we believe that we have a lot that we share in common. We have come so that we can explore ways of collaboration, for the purpose of promoting the course of justice.”

In his response, the Makurdi zonal Commander of the EFCC, ACE II Friday S. Ebelo welcomed the bar on behalf of his chairman, Mr. Ibrahim Bawa.

He accepted the hand of fellowship describing it as a “symbiotic relationship.” The Commander spoke on the need to strengthen institutions in order to have an ideal society.

In his voice: “let’s with humility serve this country under the rule of law. The rule of law is the great umbrella that cover all of us. If you don’t believe in the rule of law, it is only when you become a victim of the system, that’s when you cherish the rule of law…. We are partners in progress. Thank you for the key word you use there- collaboration. Because, it is a symbiotic relationship, whether you are on the defense side or prosecuting side, somehow,we would come and meet.”

He Appreciated the Branch for making the first female chairman. Mr. Ebelo acknowledged the capacity of women in leadership roles. He also pledged the support of the EFCC, on behalf of his Chairman, to the NBA.

Finally, he appreciated the role of lawyers and wonder what the world would have been without their services.

Senior Officers of the Command joined the Zonal Commander in the courtesy call.
