NBA PRESIDENT CONDEMNS THE INTRUSION OF THE RESIDENCE OF HIS LORDSHIP, THE PRESIDING JUSTICE OF THE COURT OF APPEAL BY AGENTS OF THE EFCC
The Nigerian Bar Association under the leadership of Y.C Maikyau, SAN has strongly condemned the intrusion of the residence of the Presiding Justice of Court of Appeal, Kano Division, His Lordship Ita Mbaba. According to the President of the largest Bar in Africa in his signed Statement made available through the NBA National Publicity Secretary, Akorede Habeeb Lawal read; a “Country of law sand regulations, we must show regard for the Rule of Law” and described as unwarranted and completely unacceptable the actions of the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) who should be collaborators injustice administration.
The Presidental so stated that, he has also reached out to his Lordship, who he said is fine and calm at the moment.
The EFCC in a Press Statement said the Honourable Justice is not under any investigation and described as unfortunate the actions of his staff and embarrassment. However, he did not apologize to the entire Judiciary over the incident.
The NBA President has since the news broke, been involved in getting to root of this untoward incident and pledges commitment to same.
