Corps Member with Disability Distributes Wheelchairs in Makurdi

A physically challenged national youth service corp member serving in Benue State, Peter Gwer has distributed 50 wheelchairs to those who need them in Makurdi.
The Corp member described the gesture as a modest contribution to those who share similar conditions with him, but do not have the means to get one.
The donation is a Personal Community development project for the Corp member who served with the Independent National Electoral Commission, in Makurdi.
Some of the beneficiaries, Henry Gberchul, businessman and Sharon, pupil appreciated the gesture from one of them and said they were elated as the wheelchairs will be a plus to Business and Education(school) respectively.
The NYSC State Coordinator for Benue State, Abe Dankaro while commissioning the wheelchairs appreciated the effort of Peter Gwer and called on the government to complement it by doing more to help those in need. He also described Peter as a specially abled person and called on other corp members to emulate the example.
On their part, INEC Benue State Admin Secretary, Shehu Abdulwahab appreciated the dogged corp member and emphasized that, he has provided the ground for physically challenged persons to access the INEC office headquarters in Makurdi, Benue State.He further promised to support Peter in other future endeavours while pledging his commitment for PLWD full participation in activities of the forth coming general elections.
The project, conceived by Peter Gwer was funded by Beautiful Gate Handicapped People’s Centre Jos. Their representative, Jwan Pansha said,they are encouraged that Peter Gwer has executed the project to the later.
Emphasis on proper utilization of the tricycle wheel chairs by beneficiaries was the call from all other dignitaries present including Hon.Nomor who represented the governor, as they are not meant for sale while pledging their support for PLWD in the state.
